Polyurea and polyaspartic are two types of epoxy polymer coatings. These materials are becoming increasingly popular for concrete flooring. They are made from epoxy resins and hardeners, but differ in their chemical composition.
Polyurea is a two-component epoxy coating, which is mixed just prior to application. It is characterized by high UV resistance, high flexibility, water resistance and chemical resistance. Polyaspartic is similar to polyurea, but it is characterized by high UV resistance, high flexibility, water resistance and resistance to chemicals such as pool chlorine.
Its resistance to water and humidity makes it the perfect choice for pool surrounds. Concrete is a porous material that easily absorbs water and moisture. This can lead to damage such as cracks, chips and unsightly stains. They prevent water from penetrating the concrete, reducing the risk of damage.
